SQZBX

You might be asking what is SQZBX?

The shortest answer – the best delicious, cheesy, pizza in Hot Springs and the surrounding area. And this delicious pizza comes from a family-run pizza joint and in-house brewery with the logo of an accordion.

Why an accordion you may ask?

As shared by local new source, THV11, SQZBX is short for “squeezebox.” But what in the world is that? It’s the nickname used for accordions, the musical instrument played by co-owner Cheryl Roorda. Her husband plays the tuba, but they both agree that’s not near as fun of an instrument to name a pizza joint after.”

We visited SQZBX after our day in Little Rock. We were searching online for a local food favorite and came across the outstanding reviews.

Let me tell you… we love pizza. I mean, we love, love, pizza. But, we are also particular. We have have been luck enough to have truly great pizza in New York, New Jersey, Virginia and California. But, we have also had lots of moderate, decent, or ehh/just ok pizza.

So, what kind of pizza do we love? The perfect pizza for us, is a thin crust (but not a cracker) under the toppings, and a chewy but structured cornicione crust. The star of the pizza should be the melded flavor of the crust, sauce, and cheese/toppings.

Let me tell you – SQZBX pizza is just that, and to us, is in the top three pizzas that we have ever had. Period.

Not to mention our server was PHENOMENAL! We didn’t get permission to share her name (oops, I forgot to ask), so I won’t do that. But, she was AWESOME. Gave us recommendations, and knowledge about the area as well.

Great staff and great pizza? That’s how you make and retain customers! Great job, SQZBX!

Not to mention, the cheesy garlic knots were delicious, and although the marinara it comes with is good – definitely request a small side of ranch or blue cheese – both are made in-house.

If you are still questioning whether you should try SQZBX, check out this garlic knot cheese-pull!

Overall, SQZBX is great! Make sure you check them out if you are in the Hot Springs, Arkansas area. And if you aren’t? Go ahead and make a road trip out to see them – you won’t be sorry!
