8,000 miles!

As of Feb. 4, 2023, when we arrived at Little Rock Central High, we hit 8,000 miles that we have traveled by truck since we began our journey, Aug. 15, 2022.

And in seven days from today, we will hit six-months since we have been traveling, and in this time we:

  • visited 17 states;
  • stayed for a month or longer in 4 states;
  • visited 11 National parks, sites and museums;
  • visited the beaches on both the East and West coasts of America;
  • traveled part of Route 66;

And, we have seen:

  • Redwood trees;
  • elephant seals (adults and juveniles);
  • the (recreated) remains of 42,000-year-old infant mummy woolly mammoth named Lyuba, which was found in Siberia;
  • Joshua trees;
  • naturally occurring gemstones;
  • petrified trees;
  • the Alamo;
  • Texas Missions;
  • the Golden Gate Bridge;
  • the north rim of the Grand Canyon;
  • wild turkeys;
  • the Golden Spike;
  • wild roadrunners;
  • the inaugural hall of fame national baseball game (Pittsburgh Pirates);
  • LaBrea tarpits;
  • several car fires and one car burnout;
  • beautiful sunsets and skylines; and more!

While we haven’t been able to document every cool, unique or beautiful thing we have experienced in our 8,000 mile trip, we are enjoying this truly once-in-a-lifetime experience and are so thankful each of you have decided to follow along with us on our trip! We hope you will continue to do so, and if you see us out and about, don’t hesitate to stop and say hi!
